1. What is HAR.com?

Answer: HAR stands for Houston Association of Realtors. The Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) is a 25,000 member organization of real estate professionals engaged in every aspect of the industry, including residential and commercial sales and leasing, appraisal, property management and counseling. It is the largest individual membership trade association in Houston, and the second largest local Association/Board of REALTORS® in the United States.
HAR was founded in 1918. Its mission is to help its members achieve ongoing success.

2. What is the MLS?

Answer: MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service. HAR members advertise their listings on MLS through HAR. This is HAR’s state-of-the-art, Web-based MLS system created specifically to meet the needs of Realtors. This tool enables to access more than 42,000 properties online, archived information on the thousands of properties sold in the past six years and the current public records information for Harris and surrounding counties.

3. What is the difference between HAR and MLS?

Answer: These are two separate memberships and only Realtors are allowed membership on MLS. While affiliates are able to join Houston Association of Realtors.
